Bay Area Awakened by Magnitude 3.9 Quake

A minor earthquake rattled the Bay Area early Sunday, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The magnitude 3.9 quake struck at 6:54 a.m., about two miles southeast of San Ramon and about 26 miles east of San Francisco, according to a preliminary report by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Although a handful of residents called the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department inquiring about the quake, there were no reports of damage or injuries, a dispatcher said.
