Shania Twain’s first album in five years, “UP!,” entered the national sales chart at No. 1 on Wednesday after selling 874,000 copies last week -- the second-highest first-week total of the year. Only Eminem’s “The Eminem Show,” which sold 1.3 million in its first full week in May, topped Twain’s total.

In “UP!,” the country-pop singer includes two discs for the price of one -- one featuring country-music arrangements of 19 new songs, the other featuring pop arrangements of the same tunes.

Twain’s last album, “Come On Over,” has sold more than 14 million copies, the most of any album in a decade.

Twain’s collection led a parade of new Top 10 entries, including the “Now 11” hits compilation, which finished No. 2 by selling 316,000 copies. The other Top 10 newcomers: Ja Rule’s “The Last Temptation” (237,000 copies, No. 4), Matchbox Twenty’s “More Than You Think You Are” (178,000 copies, No. 6), and rock band Audioslave’s “Audioslave” (162,000 copies, No. 7).

George Harrison’s posthumous “Brainwashed” finished No. 18 in its first week, selling 74,000 copies.
