Alex Zhamnov made sure Tony Amonte didn’t enjoy his reunion with his former Chicago teammates.

Zhamnov, who succeeded Amonte as Chicago’s captain when his old linemate signed with Phoenix in July, had a goal and an assist to help the Blackhawks beat the Coyotes, 4-2, Thursday night at Phoenix.

Eric Daze also had a goal and an assist, and Sergei Berezin and Nathan Dempsey scored as Chicago ended a four-game losing streak in the fifth game of its road trip. Jocelyn Thibault made 34 saves.

Shane Doan scored twice for the Coyotes.

Amonte had a seven-year low in goals (27) last season after what he claims was a Thanksgiving Day 2001 interview during which Chicago General Manager Mike Smith told him he would not be re-signed.

The Blackhawks scored four times in the first period, jumping on Brian Boucher, who stopped only 14 shots after making 33 saves in a 2-2 tie against the Ducks the night before.

Atlanta 7, New York Rangers 4 -- Patrik Stefan, Chris Herperger and Shawn McEachern each scored two goals as the Thrashers ended a three-game losing streak with a victory at Atlanta.

Philadelphia Flyer scoring leader John LeClair will be out indefinitely because of a dislocated right shoulder after he collided with an opponent Wednesday and crashed into the boards. LeClair is scheduled for tests today, but Coach Ken Hitchcock said the 33-year-old left wing will miss “some significant time.” LeClair has 11 goals and 17 points this season.
