Night Service Is Good but Size of Buses Matters
Re “Flight of the Night Owl,” Sept. 13:
It’s great that the Orange County Transportation Authority has decided to provide bus service for those who work the night shift. Now they also should consider whether the “one-size-fits-all” approach is appropriate.
During many times of the day (and the night, I’m sure) there are few passengers on these huge vehicles. How about providing equal or better service with a mix of standard buses (for the busy routes) and smaller vehicles (like the parking shuttle at the airport)? We don’t need the cost of so many standard buses or the diesel fumes they produce.
