From Times Wire Reports

Rogelio Montemayor, the former head of Mexico’s state oil company, will face extradition proceedings on corruption charges in his home country, a U.S. attorney said.

Montemayor, who directed Pemex in 2000, turned himself in to U.S. marshals at the federal courthouse in Houston.

Montemayor fled Mexico this year ahead of charges there in May that he helped channel $209 million from Pemex to the 2000 campaign coffers of the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
