A memorial fund was established Friday for two boys and their 81-year-old grandmother, killed by a fire in their La Verne home.

Firefighters found the bodies of the victims in the living room of the home in the 5600 block of Mansion Court shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Robert Langilotti, 3, and his year-old brother, John Langilotti Jr., died at a hospital. Maria Hinojosa, 81, died at the scene.

Damage to the home was estimated at $80,000.

The cause of the fire was believed to be electrical, said Battalion Chief Ed Fenneman.

Results of an investigation were pending.

The La Verne Fire Department established the Langilotti Family Memorial Fund at Vineyard Bank in La Verne.

“This is a way to provide assistance to the family,” Fenneman said. “We’ve already had people call us, wanting to donate various things, and money.”

Contributions can be sent to the bank or the fire department.
