Stolen ‘Cat in the Hat’ Movie Props Recovered
An outsize golf ball, an anvil, a key and other props for the movie “The Cat in The Hat” have been recovered, somewhat the worse for wear, Pomona police said Monday.
Pomona Police Cpl. Michael Neaderbaomer said the props, which were stolen from a fenced-off area Thursday night, were discovered Sunday morning on a vacant lot about a half-mile from where they had disappeared.
Detectives said huge sunglasses and a giant golf tee had been damaged beyond repair but the other props probably could be fixed.
The total damage was estimated at about $20,000.
Neaderbaomer said detectives were pursuing a tip.
