From Times Wire Reports

With Democratic Gov. Gray Davis set to step up his appeals for Latino support this week, Republican challenger Bill Simon Jr. accused him Tuesday of neglecting businesses owned by Latinos.

Simon, campaigning at a Latino Business Assn. exhibition in Los Angeles, said Davis had harmed Latino entrepreneurs by imposing “stifling regulations” and “crippling taxes.”

Davis spokesman Roger Salazar said Simon was “turning a blind eye to the facts when it comes to the governor’s record.”
