A consumer’s guide to the best and worst of sports media and merchandise. Ground rules: If it can be read, heard, observed, viewed, dialed or downloaded, it’s in play here. One exception: No products will be endorsed.

What: PubClub.com’s World Series Bar and Party Guide

The PubClub.com Web site, a guide to nightlife, restaurants and activities in cities around the world, offers a special page devoted to the bar scenes around Edison Field and San Francisco’s PacBell Park.

It easy to see that San Francisco is the winner here. Under San Francisco, the site lists a number of stadium-close bars. Under Anaheim, is this: “Unlike all new stadiums in this country, Edison Field is not part of a downtown hub of bars and restaurants. It is Anaheim, which means it requires a car to get anywhere (much like its neighbor to the north, Los Angeles).”

There’s this advice: “To really cut loose, one has to first get out of Anaheim. Newport Beach and Huntington Beach come to mind.”

Only two sports bars in the Edison Field area get mentions -- the National Sports Grill and the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney.
