Paints and appaloosas will dominate the card tonight as a weekend of trials concludes.

There will be two trials for the $20,000-added Starburst Futurity, a 350-yard race for 2-year-olds, and two for the $10,000-added Starburst Derby, a 400-yard race for 3-year-olds. The 10 fastest qualifiers in each age group move on to the finals in two weeks.

In the first Futurity trial, Cha Cha Chickie will be looking for her fourth win in five starts for owners Pam Maloney and Robin Moraga and trainer Connie Hall. The Easy Jet Too filly won the Red Sky Futurity on Aug. 31.

Among the older paints and appaloosas, Judys Cash will be trying for her third win in a row and 10th in 18 starts in the eighth race, the first trial for the Starburst Derby. Trained by John Bassett, the Judys Lineage filly will be ridden by Joe Badilla.
