Woman, 35, Killed After Car Swerves Into a Tree

A 35-year-old woman was killed Tuesday on Topanga Canyon Boulevard when her car swerved into a tree, the California Highway Patrol said.
Elizabeth Miner, a Topanga area resident, drove across the center line to pass another vehicle near Viewridge Road about 8:10 a.m., Officer Leland Tang said. While trying to avoid oncoming traffic, she apparently lost control of her car, he said.
