No Injuries or Damage as Quake Shakes Desert

An earthquake rattled the Imperial County desert Saturday morning, but there were no reports of any injuries or damage, authorities said.
The magnitude 3.6 temblor struck at 9:24 a.m. about 18 miles north of El Centro, according to U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Lucy Jones. The quake was preceded by a magnitude 2.9 foreshock at 7:55 a.m. in the same location, Jones said. El Centro is about 100 miles east of San Diego.
