Bearcats Win in Overtime
Quarterback Gino Guidugli opened his sophomore season with another amazing comeback.
Guidugli threw a 35-yard touchdown pass with 1:36 remaining, scored the tying two-point conversion on a sneak, then ran 14 yards for a touchdown in overtime as Cincinnati beat Texas Christian, 36-29, on Monday at Cincinnati in the Conference USA opener for both schools.
The Bearcats scored two touchdowns in the final 5:17 of regulation behind Guidugli, who pulled off three fourth-quarter comebacks last season.
After Guidugli scored in overtime on a draw, safety Doug Monaghan intercepted Sean Stilley’s pass at the goal line to end the game.
