October March Planned to Protest Iraq Invasion
Led by former Atty. Gen. Ramsey Clark, antiwar activists said they would march on the capital Oct. 26 to oppose an attack on Iraq.
The demonstration, and a parallel protest in San Francisco, are being led by International Answer, a group that held a pro-Palestinian protest in Washington in April that attracted thousands of demonstrators. It was one of several protests coinciding with the spring meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
President Bush has pledged to seek congressional approval before taking action against Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
