Conejo Man Is Held in Stabbing
A Thousand Oaks man was arrested Friday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in the stabbing of another man, authorities said.
Victor Maddens, 26, was taken into custody at a Newbury Park hotel after allegedly attacking Robert Gomez, also 26, about 8:15 a.m. outside Gomez’s home on Skyline Drive, authorities said.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Flannigan said Gomez was about to enter his home when Maddens allegedly jumped out from a hiding place and slashed Gomez on the face, wrist and arm.
The motive for the attack remained under investigation.
Gomez was treated at a Thousand Oaks hospital and released.
