GIRLS’ GOLF

The preseason No. 1-ranked team, Long Beach Wilson, didn’t complete an official match last week, but the first nine holes of its 18-hole match against Gahr served notice that the Bruins will be the team to beat this season. Wilson shot a nine-hole school record 203 on the Lake Course at Los Coyotes Country Club. Jenni Tangtiphaiboontana led the way with a two-under-par 34 and Wilson had three girls break 40. The previous nine-hole school record was 207.
