Nature Violated

The destruction of a 100-year-old eucalyptus tree by architect Frank Gehry’s crew and his support of the Playa Vista project are of a piece (Sept. 12). In their thoughtless pursuit of the bottom line, both Gehry and Playa Vista are annihilators of an aesthetic they will never surpass, the architecture of nature.
