Ex-49er Pleads Not Guilty to DUI
Former San Francisco 49er Jeff Bregel has pleaded not guilty to felony drunk driving in a Labor Day car crash in Granada Hills.
The 38-year-old Granada Hills resident entered his plea Tuesday in a San Fernando courtroom. He faces up to four years in state prison if convicted.
No one was seriously injured in the accident.
Prosecutors said the former USC All-American football lineman has been convicted for driving under the influence five times since 1988.
Bregel is being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in lieu of $90,000 bail.
