Kevin Williams, the man considered the primary suspect in the disappearances of his brother, former NBA player Brian Williams, and two others in the South Pacific, died late Friday night at Scripps Hospital in Chula Vista.

Kevin, 35, also known as Miles Dabord, had been comatose since being transported to the hospital from Tijuana on Sept. 15.

Doctors informed Kevin’s mother, Patricia Phillips, that he had suffered massive brain damage after he overdosed on insulin and failed to take his asthma medication.

Phillips removed Kevin from a respirator Thursday morning after what she called a “home-going” ceremony.

Brian Williams, also known as Bison Dele, his girlfriend, Serena Karlan, and boat captain Bertrand Saldo are assumed dead in the ocean off Tahiti. Kevin was the last known person to be with them.

Phillips said she experienced a peaceful feeling and connected with Brian during the hospital ceremony for Kevin.

“I actualized [Dele’s] death,” Phillips said. “That was something that, for whatever reasons, I had been putting off. I had been seeing Miles die. But then, suddenly, I felt Brian’s spirit.

“He was giving me that look he used to give, where he’d tilt his head to the side and give me an impish, little boy look. He was saying, ‘You just have to accept this, Mom. It’s all right.’ And with that, I finally accepted Brian is dead.”
