Promise kept

Jack Douglas is a man of his word. For three years, the legendary music producer (John Lennon, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith) promised underground rock ‘n’ roll legend Texas Terri he’d produce an album for her. Well, it’s finally going down. Over at Paul Black Studio in Atwater Village, Hollywood’s very own female Iggy Pop is collaborating with Douglas on “Paging All Demons,” Texas Terri’s latest battle cry, which includes guest appearances by punk legend Wayne Kramer, Motochrist guitarist Marc Diamond, the Dickies’ Dave Teague and the Runaways’ Cherie Currie. That’s right, don’t mess with Texas yo.... Viper Room impresario Sal Jenco, who co-wrote the “Paging All Demons” track “Never Shut Up, Always Want More,” has been exorcising his own demons by creating punk rock art projects. You can check out a sampling of his work at the Zero One Gallery at a group show beginning Saturday, and on May 5 the downtown art gallery is launching a solo show of Jenco’s art.

It ain’t p.c.; it’s rock ‘n’ roll

Viper booker Dayle Gloria, a.k.a. “The Ears of Rock,” says the show not to miss is Friday night’s set by the Fags, a Detroit trio that copped its name from the British slang for cigarettes. The Viper’s bringing back Ours after last week’s three-night sold-out run. Ours, fronted by soulful New Jersey singer/songwriter Jimmy Gnecco, is performing April 24 with James Hall and the Pleasure Club and April 26 with Driveblind.... The Shetland Ponies shredded at the Key Club on Saturday. The hot New York band is fronted by the Strokes’ manager Ryan Gentles. And that glam punk princess Theo from the Lunachicks makes her solo debut Friday at the Key Club’s new monthly dance club, Broadway Jungle.... This just in: DJ Lee, who runs the kick-back Atwater Village hang the Bigfoot Lodge, is rockin’ the Knitting Factory tonight with his unique blend of soul, funk and glam.
