21 Students, Teacher Killed in School Fire

A fire engulfed an old wooden school in the northern Siberian republic of Yakutia, killing 21 students and a teacher, emergency officials in Russia said.
Ten more students were hospitalized with burns and fractured bones after they jumped out the windows of the two-story building to escape, said Yelena Mineyeva, spokeswoman for the Emergency Situations Ministry in Yakutia, about 3,000 miles east of Moscow.
The students were between 11 and 18.
