Cummings’ Status Uncertain
Ben Howland has been busy since returning to UCLA from the Final Four. The new coach met individually with every player, including forward T.J. Cummings, whose status for next season is undetermined.
Cummings, who will be a senior, did not attend the team meeting last week when Howland was introduced as coach.
Cummings is considering making himself available for the NBA draft, but he told Howland a decision has not been made.
Howland told sources at the Final Four that he expects to bring his entire staff from Pittsburgh unless Jamie Dixon, his top assistant, fills the vacancy he left. Howland also has begun recruiting. Arron Afflalo of Compton Centennial High, one of the nation’s top prep shooting guards, took an unofficial visit to UCLA this week.
