Man Found Guilty of Killing 18-Year-Old Girl

Jurors convicted a Lincoln Heights man Thursday of strangling his girlfriend’s daughter and then hiding the 18-year-old’s body under a pile of clothing in a bedroom closet.
Man Cooc Duong, 54, was convicted of second-degree murder and faces 15 years to life in prison when he appears before Superior Court Judge Stephen Marcus for sentencing May 12.
Linda Au, an honor student at Verdugo Hills High School, was found dead on April 14 last year. Duong had lived with her and her mother for five years.
