Airport Joins Effort to Reduce Air Pollution
From Times Staff Reports
Burbank Airport has joined airlines, government agencies and other Southern California airfields in a cooperative effort to reduce air pollution caused by ground-service equipment, officials said Friday. The goal is to cut the emissions by 80% over the next seven years.
More facilities will be provided at the airport for charging electrical equipment, and airlines agreed to replace their old equipment with less-polluting models.
