A man who along with his son attacked Kansas City Royal coach Tom Gamboa during a game last season was sentenced Wednesday to probation, drawing criticism from the coach.

“To me, probation is nothing,” Gamboa said.

Cook County Judge Leo Holt sentenced William Ligue Jr. to 30 months of probation after Ligue pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated battery. He also must perform community service and remain in a substance abuse program.
