Ken Dorsey still knows how to win, even when it’s only for Bay Area bragging rights.

Dorsey threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to rookie fullback Matt Stanley of UCLA with 2:19 left, giving the 49ers a 14-10 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night at San Francisco in the annual Battle of the Bay exhibition game.

Rick Mirer led the Raiders to the San Francisco nine in the final minute, but the veteran quarterback fumbled a fourth-down snap with 26 seconds left.

Dorsey, who led the University of Miami to 38 victories and a national title during his prolific college career, had another strong game in his fight to make the 49er roster.

Playing for his favorite childhood team, the seventh-round draft choice completed only six of 15 for 47 yards -- but he made all of the most important throws during a 71-yard drive. Stanley nearly dropped the soft screen pass, but recovered from his bobble and dived across the goal line.

After missing his first four field-goal attempts of the exhibition season, Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 45-yard field goal with 7:35 left for the Raiders.

Rookie Justin Fargas of USC rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown in 18 carries -- all in the second half.

Mirer completed nine of 16 for 134 yards.

All-Pro center Barret Robbins also got his first exhibition action on the Raiders’ final possession of the first half.

He hadn’t played since being suspended a few hours before the Super Bowl after a two-day drinking binge.

He has practiced sparingly in training camp while recovering from knee surgery.

Pro Bowl running back LaDainian Tomlinson had been going full speed and wasn’t drinking enough fluids in training camp.

He had to pull himself out of the San Diego Chargers’ practice Thursday morning because he was overheated and dehydrated.

Tomlinson eventually was taken by a golf cart to the training room at the Home Depot Center, where he received two bags of intravenous fluid and rested for several hours.

“I’ve been going pretty hard the last couple of days, running a lot and really working hard,” Tomlinson said after watching the afternoon practice from the sideline.

“I don’t think I’ve done a good enough job of putting fluids back into my body. So it’s a little bit of my fault for not taking care of my body. It just caught up with me today.”

Defensive end Michael Strahan’s broken toe will keep him out of the New York Giants’ exhibition game tonight against the Carolina Panthers.

Strahan broke the little toe on his right foot last week and sat out the exhibition opener against the New England Patriots.

Keith Washington is expected to start for Strahan at left end.

Safety Shaun Williams (shoulder), backup safety Johnnie Harris (hamstring) and running back Dorsey Levens (leg) also won’t play.
