Family Research Council Names New President

Tony Perkins, a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, has been named the new president of the Family Research Council, the organization said.
Perkins, 40, who is serving the final year of his second legislative term, will begin his work with the council on Sept. 1. He succeeds Ken Connor, who resigned from the conservative Christian organization July 14, after three years of service.
