Royalclassic Express Seeks a Happy Landing
Close in two recent stakes, Royalclassic Express drops into a softer spot in tonight’s ninth race, a $14,750 allowance at 350 yards.
Owned by Jerry and Sharon Fizer and trained by Marnie Betar, the 3-year-old A Classic Dash filly is the 8-5 favorite on Ed Burgart’s morning line against nine opponents.
A winner of four of 10 in 2002, Royalclassic Express has only one win in 10 starts this year. However, she has been second or third on six other occasions. With Rodrigo Aceves aboard, she will break from Post 9.
The 4-1 second choice is Hi Patriot. Trained by Paul Jones, the 3-year-old Jazzing Hi filly will leave from the outside box and will again be ridden by Alejandro Luna.
The picks: 1. Preminission. 2. Alley Cat Cartel. 3. Sey Mag Proof. 4. Cash To The Runner. 5. Fresno Jazz. 6. Jusred. 7. Quick Cowgirl. 8. Tikis French Kiss. 9. Royalclassic Express. 10. Rakin Leaves.
Four! Mr Happy Hour and Preminission in the first, Alley Cat Cartel and Aze Wanta Dash in the second, the Sey Mag Proof-Sey More Proof entry in the third and all in the fourth.
Shots in the dark: Dashing N Style stretches out to 870 yards for his local debut in the fifth. Just Think had excuses in her last outing for trainer Kelly Lewis and could rebound in the ninth.
