Naslund’s Four Goals Lift Canucks

Markus Naslund scored his fourth goal of the game 24 seconds into overtime, giving the Vancouver Canucks a 4-3 victory over Pittsburgh on Tuesday night at Vancouver, Canada.

Naslund, back in the lineup after sitting out a game Saturday against Minnesota because of a groin injury, beat Marc-Andre Fleury through the legs for the forward’s 15th goal of the season.

Todd Bertuzzi had three assists and Johan Hedberg made 14 saves to help the Canucks break a three-game winless slide.

Naslund tied it at 1-1 with a goal 3:29 into the second period, then tied the game again 10 minutes later on the power play.

Naslund completed his ninth career hat trick, breaking a 2-2 tie 7:08 into the third period, banging in a loose puck after a wild scramble in front of Fleury.

St. Louis 3, Toronto 2 -- Chris Pronger scored 30 seconds into overtime to give Blues a victory at Toronto, ending the Maple Leafs’ winning streak at eight games.

After Toronto’s Joe Nieuwendyk tied it with a short-handed goal with 17 seconds left in regulation, Pronger scored on the power play.

Carolina 3, Edmonton 2 -- At Edmonton, Canada, Marty Murray scored twice to help the Hurricanes snap a three-game winless streak.

Murray scored twice in the first period against goalie Tommy Salo, making his first appearance after missing more than a month because of a hip injury.

New York Islanders 5, Tampa Bay 2 -- Shawn Bates and Trent Hunter had a goal and two assists each for the Islanders at Uniondale, N.Y.

Minnesota 2, Calgary 1 -- Manny Fernandez made 31 saves and Andrei Zyuzin had a goal and an assist for the Wild at St. Paul, Minn.

Martin Gelinas, playing his 1,000th NHL game, scored for Calgary.
