From Times Wire Reports
President Bush signed legislation outlawing the selling and shipping of lions, tigers and other big cats across state lines without the proper permit or accreditation.
The measure was aimed at improving control over the exotic pet trade. It exempts legitimate sanctuaries and federally licensed zoos, circuses and animal trainers.
The Humane Society of the United States says there are currently 10,000 to 15,000 pet tigers, lions and other big cats around the country.
