Racing Takes Brief Break After Tonight

The track will conclude its 2002-03 meet with a nine-race card tonight, headed by the $15,000 Mistletoe Handicap at 300 yards.

The Mistletoe attracted nine 3-year-old fillies, including three trained by record-setting conditioner Paul Jones -- Loves That Gold, Yankee Debut and Bobbiesdashinfavorite.

From the inside out, the field also includes First Rate Choice, Dolls Special Dotcom, Suzy Cartel, Poza, Just Think and Dashing Scarlett. Dolls Special Dotcom and Dashing Scarlett will be coupled in the wagering; both are owned by Muller Racing and trained by Dennis Ekins.

After tonight, Los Alamitos will be dark until the 2003-04 season begins Friday.

Shots in the dark: Dash For Taz stretches out to 870 yards for trainer Chuck Treece in the fifth. I Spy A Fly ships in from Turf Paradise in the seventh.
