Trail Blazers Continue Their Misery on Road

Peja Stojakovic hit five three-point baskets while scoring 29 points, and Vlade Divac had a season-high 26 points in the Sacramento Kings’ seventh victory in eight games -- 117-98 over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night.

The Kings, who along with the Lakers have the NBA’s best home record, made sure Portland remained the league’s only winless road team, dropping the Trail Blazers to 0-9 with a game-ending 21-8 run.

Mike Bibby had 18 points and seven assists, and Brad Miller had 18 points and 14 rebounds in Sacramento’s 14th win in 15 home games.

Rasheed Wallace scored 27 points and Zack Randolph had 26 for the Trail Blazers, who haven’t won on the road in 12 games since April 8. As usual, Portland played well in Sacramento, but Stojakovic and Divac hit big shots down the stretch.

The Kings had 28 assists -- seven apiece by Divac and Bibby -- to go with only nine turnovers.

Jeff McInnis had 16 points and seven assists for the Trail Blazers.

Miami 104, Golden State 93 -- Rookie Dwyane Wade scored 33 points, eclipsing the career high he set Tuesday, as the Heat recovered from consecutive road losses at Philadelphia and Memphis and won its fourth in a row at home.

Eddie Jones scored 21 points and shot nine of 10 from the field, and Lamar Odom had 11 points and 15 rebounds. The Heat was 10 of 16 from three-point range, including Wade’s consecutive baskets from the baseline early in the fourth quarter for a 92-76 lead.

Nick Van Exel and Jason Richardson each scored 17 points for the Warriors.

Boston 87, Philadelphia 84 -- Paul Pierce scored 31 points, Jiri Welsch had 22 and the Celtics overcame a 12-point deficit in the final quarter at Boston to defeat Philadelphia and move ahead of the 76ers in the Atlantic Division.

Allen Iverson sat out his fourth consecutive game because of a right knee bruise. Aaron McKie paced the 76ers with 24 points, and rookie Kyle Korver went five for five from three-point range and scored 18.

Detroit 96, Utah 75 -- The Pistons broke 90 points for the first time since Nov. 28, getting 19 points from both Chauncey Billups and Chucky Atkins at Auburn Hills, Mich.

Detroit’s three-guard rotation of Billups, Atkins and Richard Hamilton combined for 50 points.

Carlos Arroyo (11 points) was the only Jazz player to reach double figures.

Orlando 104, Toronto 93 -- Tracy McGrady scored 29 points and Juwan Howard had 20 points and 12 rebounds at Toronto to help the Magic to its third consecutive victory.

The Magic has won six of eight since snapping a 19-game losing streak.

Donyell Marshall had 19 points and 19 rebounds for the Raptors in their fifth loss in six games.
