Flooding Forces Closure of McGrath State Beach
From Times Staff Reports
McGrath State Beach in Oxnard is closed because of flooding, the state Department of Parks and Recreation said Tuesday.
The park, known for its beachside campgrounds and abundant bird-watching, is not expected to reopen until early January, officials said.
Recent storms and a sandbar that formed in the estuary have caused flooding along portions of the entrance road to the beach, officials said.
Campers who have paid for reservations can receive a refund by calling (805) 585-1848 or (800) 695-2269.
