Apartment Complex Fire Displaces 2 Families
From Times Staff Reports
Two families were displaced from their homes early Thursday by a fire in the carport of their apartment complex, authorities said.
No one was hurt, but seven adults and seven children were evacuated from two apartments, at 144 W. Mayfair Ave., because of smoke and water damage, the Red Cross said.
The fire is believed to have been started by exposed wires, a fire official said.
Red Cross volunteers provided meals to the families.
