Driver Hit by Debris, Not Bullet, CHP Says
A man thought to have been shot in the head Monday on the Pomona Freeway in the City of Industry was apparently injured instead by a piece of flying metal, the Highway Patrol said.
Mario Hernandez of Fontana was westbound near the San Gabriel River Freeway about 2:30 p.m. when a piece of metal flew through his windshield, officials said.
He sustained major injuries and was taken to County-USC Medical Center, officials said.
