Officers Fatally Shoot Man During Traffic Stop
Two LAPD officers shot and killed a man they thought reached for a gun during a traffic stop early Saturday, police said.
A passenger in the car was uninjured, police said. Police found a bag of crack cocaine but no weapon after the 1:30 a.m. shooting, authorities said.
Police said the man killed ran a red light and drove the wrong way on a one-way street before stopping at 3rd and Los Angeles streets.
The officers shot him after another officer yelled that the man had a gun after seeing him reach between his legs, police said.
