Pilot Badly Burned in Plane Crash at Airport

A Corona del Mar pilot practicing takeoffs and landings was critically burned when his stunt biplane crashed at Long Beach Airport, authorities said Sunday.
The single-engine plane crashed about 10:50 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. James Winegarden, 58, was in critical but stable condition at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.
