1 Killed, 10 Hurt as Car Rams Dialysis Center
A dialysis patient was killed and 10 others were injured -- three critically -- Monday morning when a car veered into a treatment center, authorities said.
The driver, a 67-year-old Los Angeles man whose name was not released, was parking his vehicle at the Baldwin Hills Dialysis Center, 3705 S. La Brea Ave., when, for an unknown reason, he crashed into the center, said Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver was unhurt.
One of the patients hooked up to a dialysis machine, a 74-year-old Los Angeles man whose name was being withheld pending notification of family, died at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center.
