A Camarillo man died over the weekend from injuries suffered nine days earlier when he struck his head during an altercation at a medical clinic.
Keaton Jeffrey McCallister, 39, never regained consciousness and died Saturday afternoon.
Authorities said McCallister went to the Santa Rosa Walk-In clinic, in the 4900 block of Verdugo Way, about 11 a.m. Jan. 23 and requested treatment. Employees rejected McCallister’s insurance documentation.
An argument later in the parking lot turned into a scuffle with a clinic employee that ended when the victim hit his head on the pavement, authorities said.
A Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the district attorney’s office is investigating.
