Texas Finally Beats Oklahoma

Brandon Mouton scored 14 points and Royal Ivey made the key three-point basket as No. 6 Texas defeated No. 5 Oklahoma, 67-61, Monday night at Austin, Texas, ending an eight-game losing streak against the Sooners.
The Longhorns, 16-4 overall and 7-2 in the Big 12, hadn’t beaten their border rivals since Jan. 15, 2000.
Hollis Price scored 23 points for Oklahoma (16-4, 7-2), which dropped out of a tie for first place in the conference with Oklahoma State and Kansas.
Texas, which led most of the game, was ahead, 55-54, when Ivey nailed his second three-pointer to give the Longhorns a four-point lead with 2:11 left to play.
No. 23 Connecticut 75, No. 17 Syracuse 61 -- Emeka Okafor had 15 points and 12 rebounds, and the Huskies used a balanced offense and solid defense to win a Big East game at Hartford, Conn.
The Huskies (15-5, 6-3) won their second straight game since losing two in a row by more than 20 points. They improved to 2-1 without Coach Jim Calhoun, who is sidelined after surgery for prostate cancer.
Freshman Carmelo Anthony matched his career high with 29 points for the Orangemen (16-4, 7-3).

Alana Beard scored 24 points and No. 2 Duke (22-1, 10-0) used a 10-0 second-half run to pull away for a 75-48 victory over Virginia (10-12, 4-7) in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Durham, N.C.
