City to Pay $390,000 for Injuries by Officer
From Staff and Wire Reports
City officials agreed Tuesday to pay $390,000 to a Hayward man who suffered a fractured skull and broken arm at the hands of a San Jose police officer.
The settlement was reached Monday, just before a federal trial was scheduled to begin on the civil lawsuit.
The case stemmed from an incident in 1999 in which Officer Robert Reichert was searching for a robbery suspect.
