Motorcycle Officers’ Risks Outweigh Benefits
Re “Not-Guilty Plea Entered in Crash Fatal to Officer,” June 28:
As traffic continues to get worse in Southern California, motorcycle officers continue to get killed at an alarming rate. I’m sure they generate a lot of income for cash-strapped cities with their radar guns, but the price is getting too high. It’s a safe bet that none of these officers would have been killed or even seriously injured if they were in an automobile when the accident occurred. How many more have to die before these “suicycles” are taken off the road, as they have been in other parts of the country?
