Man Found Slain in Vehicle at Oxnard Apartments
A man was found shot to death inside his car in the covered parking area of an Oxnard apartment complex Sunday afternoon, police said.
A passerby noticed the victim slumped inside the car in the 1900 block of Ginger Street about 3 p.m. and contacted authorities. The victim’s name was being held pending notification of his family.
Police officials said the man had been shot at least once in the abdomen but it was unclear when the shooting took place. There were no suspects and the motive remained under investigation.
Police officers said they have come to the apartment complex on Ginger Street several times to investigate loud parties and excessive noise, but no one reported gunshots Sunday.
The shooting marked the 28th homicide in Ventura County and the 15th so far this year in Oxnard.
