County Seeks Probe on Health of 600 Horses
From Times Wire Reports
The county Board of Supervisors wants health officials to report on the condition of about 600 rescued horses on a Buellton ranch.
The board moved Tuesday because of reports that complaints continue to go unchecked by animal welfare officials concerning the care and monitoring of the mustangs.
The Animal Services office first began its probe in early April after area residents complained that the wild mustangs were sick and malnourished.
