Police Shoot, Wound Carjacking Suspect
Police officers shot and wounded an alleged carjacker Saturday evening after he overpowered a motorist outside an auto parts store and stole a vehicle, authorities said.
Marco Antonio Montes, 19, of Lancaster was wounded during a confrontation with officers about 6:40 p.m. in the 24000 block of Vista Montana Street, Lt. Patrick Shortall said.
Montes was booked on suspicion of carjacking and was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office and Torrance police are reviewing the shooting.
