Suspect Named in Pair’s Killing
La Habra police Wednesday identified a suspect in a July 4 shooting that left two men dead.
Police say Roland Reynaldo Macias, 26, of Bloomington is believed to have fatally shot Carlos Jesse Cadena, 30, of Victorville and Raul Marquez Basulto, 25, of Upland as the three sat in a car parked near Lambert Road and Whitebook Drive.
“It’s been an ongoing investigation,” said Sgt. Jeff Baylos, a spokesman for the La Habra Police Department. “Once we established enough probable cause, we obtained an arrest warrant.”
Macias is described as 5 feet 6 inches, 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of the shooting his head was shaved and he had a mustache. He has tattoos on his shoulders, chest, abdomen, back and back of the neck, as well as markings across the top of his head, Baylos said.
The incident is being investigated as a gang-related shooting, Baylos said. Anyone with information about Macias’ whereabouts is asked to call the department’s anonymous tip line at (562) 905-9611.
