Sting Feasts on Silver Stars
Allison Feaster made five three-pointers and scored 21 points to lead the Charlotte Sting to a 67-52 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Wednesday at Charlotte, N.C.
On defense, she held Marie Ferdinand to 15 points, forced three turnovers and had two steals.
“It’s a very important part of our game plan to limit the other team’s top player with defense -- I take pride in it,” Feaster said.
“To do that and still do well on offense takes focus and your legs can really get worn down.”
Ferdinand was the only player in double figures for slumping San Antonio, which lost its fourth straight game. The Silver Stars, who relocated from Utah during the off-season, shot a franchise-low 30% and fell to 1-4.
Tammy Sutton-Brown and Kelly Miller each had 10 points for the Sting.
