Sylmar Man, 24, Stabbed in Brawl at a Ventura Bar
A 24-year-old Sylmar man was stabbed several times during a fight early Sunday at a bar in downtown Ventura, authorities said.
Christopher Alpuche was in serious but stable condition Sunday at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, according to a statement from Ventura Police Department officials.
Alpuche and his friends had been partying at the Sans Souci bar on South Chestnut Street when employees asked the group to leave. They complied, but returned about 12:30 a.m., when Alpuche and his friends brawled with about a dozen employees and bar patrons.
Police officials said there are conflicting stories about the stabbing. As of Sunday, there had been no arrests but the case was under investigation.
