Autopsy to Determine Charges Against Mother
Law enforcement authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine whether the mother of an infant found dead in an alley Monday should face charges other than incest.
The 22-year-old woman gave birth behind her home about 10 a.m. Monday.
The father is the woman’s 17-year-old brother, said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Beavers. He was arrested on suspicion of incest.
“It wasn’t immediately clear if the child was stillborn or if it was born alive and died of exposure, so it’s not clear what charges the woman will face,” Beavers said.
