A teenage driver who authorities say struck and killed an Orange County sheriff’s sergeant pleaded not guilty Friday to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

Kristen Elzby, 18, of Mission Viejo faces up to a year in jail if she is convicted of running a stop sign on Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo and pulling in front of Sgt. Matthew Davis, 38, on Sept. 20.
